a terrific way to burn some calories quickly. elephant Mountain is one of the four beast mountains that can be accessed from Taipei 101, Xinyi neighborhood. the first segment of this lush hike is not a hike but a staircase straight up the side of the mountain. don't expect any level walking until you reach the second peak. the lookouts and panoramic views are stellar on clear day. finish your trek with a lasagna or lemon coffee sunshine cafe just at the Xinyi trail entrance. avoid weekends and holidays at all costs unless you like standing in line.
