Stunning views on this exceptional hiking/running trail that runs all ther way from Canada to Mexico! It crosses the "Old 40" Highway at the Summit, just down the road from our cabin.
Most of the "Old 40" is paved, with the most scenic section being the windy 1000' deep from Donner Summit to Donner Lake. A section of it just West of there is still dirt, part of the old Donner Party trail, running through Van Norden Meadow. Be sure to hike, bike, or drive this while you're here!
