If you are ever in town for the wine maker’s dinner at the grand...I’ll see you there! I won’t miss it. We learned so much and sampled copper baker wines all night long. Newsflash: they were all great. Husbands favorite was rancher red. I really liked the dry rose.

I don’t even have a photo of any of the times we have been here, because the food is so good. Huge portions. You just dive right in and forget you were supposed to snap a pic. I personally love the Caesar salad. But, I have yet to completely finish one. Come hungry, leave stuffed to the gills. The pie is also killer good. Hard to get a seat if you are a big group on the weekend, because it can be so busy.

Lock up your bike.
Baker is a great super safe little small town. But, as with anywhere, lock up that bike. Being right off the interstate, petty thieves can be a little too tempted by an unchained bike.

Mountain Temp Drops
Sometimes the weather comes over the mountain with very little notice, and you will have a 20 degree temp drops in a blink. Just keep a light layer around, just in case the mountains decide to “weather” at you on your visit. :) it gets fairly cool, even in summer evenings. Plan accordingly if your event or activity is going to be in the evening.

York’s Market
This is a hidden local gem. Most people driveby. If you are in Baker with kids, grab your lunch here (small tables inside and out) and take it down the the park. Easy peasy. They also have emergency things you forgot or basics like bread/eggs. Fountain soda for the kids, Coffee for the parents. They have a little menu and daily specials. Lots of kid options.
