Park at the address above. Enter at the large greenbelt entrance and after hiking down the stony hill, take a left. Stay to the right and about one half mile in, you will be at the flats. This is the river in the picture above although it is usually half dry and all flat stone, hence being called the flats. you will see the enormous cliff face and the cave from which this picture was taken. You'd be surprised to know as a sober adult you can access it relatively easily with no "real" climbing. If you want to go to a cliff jumping spot (only when water is high), follow the river downstream for a half mile.

You'll often find people with slack lines (like tight ropes) set up over the water happy to let you take a swing at it. There's a nice little lake-beach and plenty of places to tan or cool it in the shade.

It has a shaded grassy hill to sun tan and play guitar on and a diving board to practice your flips on. It costs $6 for adults to enter and less for children. I recommend you buy your tickets online ahead of time and show up earlier in the day. It's become a very popular spot with good reason. You don't want to be stuck in line when it's at capacity.
