I have added some of our favorite wineries! We recommend doing them based on areas.. the ones closest to skyline drive are Stone Mountain, Glass House and Moss; closest to the house are Barboursville, Horton, Well Hung and Keswick; most popular ones close to Charlottesville are King Family, Valley Road and Pippin

Check out their page for scheduled events- they usually have something fun going on! They have seating next to the building but it can become a long wait on the weekends, bring a chair or blanket and sit down next to the river instead! (unfortunately the tasting room is not pet friendly but if you have someone in your group that can order for you then everywhere outside is ok for dogs!)

Things to do
The most popular hike that people travel here to do is Old rag- this is a much longer, intense hike that is not pet friendly but so fun and beautiful! Rose River loop is probably my favorite because it’s a mild-moderate hike and you get to see rose river falls and dark hallow falls. Hawksbill is a shorter one with the best mountaintop views- it’s the highest hikable spot in our area. White oak is another good waterfall one- it even has a swimming hole. Black rock summit is a really good one if you want to add a hike on at the end of the day because it’s super short so you can watch the sunset and make it back to your car before it’s too dark.
