Friends of Ours always has two rotating soft brew filter coffee options; Dark Arts and another guest roaster. Their food is anything but ordinary, with everything from Soft Shell Crab Charcoal Burgers to Apple Crumble Hotcakes.

The perfect coffee fix and still open at 6pm when most coffee shops have closed for the day and Shoreditch is preparing to party but it's actually too early for a cocktail.

Nice little falafel joint that has all the trimmings. Portions are quite big so if you're going there for lunch regular portion will do unless you have a big appetite. I love ordering extra chilli sauce - it's not too spicy but very tasty. Good for take outs too as well as fresh OJ!

Downstairs is very classy and good for a romantic meal. They serve traditional Vietnamese street food and their Pho soup is very yum. Kingsland Road has a string of Vietnamese restaurants which are worth checking out and visiting if you have time.

Nice little place a short walk from flat and right next to George and Vulture pub for a swift one after. Friendly staff and on a section of road where there's a nice community feel.

Menu looks delicious and wine menu is v reasonable. See photos of window menus.
Had a sneak peak inside and looks really trendy and ambient.
Looking forward to trying this place myself!

Had a sneak peak inside and looks really trendy and ambient.
Looking forward to trying this place myself!

Nice warm friendly pub that has a real buzz about it. They have a fine selection of beers and are very close to the flat. They also play live music there. Not the most spacious of venues but it's a very cosy and friendly venue. I've also heard they do great Sunday Roasts but please do your own research on that. I have tried their scotch egg at the bar which was very tasty.

My second favourite local pub. Nice beer, high ceilings and in a nice part of Hoxton close to various eateries. Also really close to a new cinema which is due to open soon. I will get a review up for that once I get the chance to go. I've witness pizzas in this place also which are cooked in a clay oven and they look AMAZING! Pizza and beer, I could think of worse outings!

It's a small basement bar found at the bottom of a discreet stairwell, it is the ideal place to enjoy an intimate and sensual atmosphere, created by the many cushioned benches grouped together, and enhanced by candle-light and blood red walls.
They play sophisticated 40s/50s "rare groove" music, a very refined blend of obscure jazz, pop, jazz fusion, R&B, soul etc. This bar specialises in spirits and very original cocktails, such as Perfect Storm, Ward Eight, Tantris Sidecar, or Eastside Fizz.
Incredible Thai food nibbles are also served since the bar itself is located beneath a Thai restaurant.

Hipster cafe bar behind glass shopfront of an ex-wholesalers, with candlelit, bare-brick basement. This place serves good beer and is a really cool venue - more of a starting place than a finishing place these days.

Love this place as you have to be in the know to know about it. Saw a really good jazz band, have funky cocktails and table service. Place is quite cramp but that doesn't hinder your experience just be careful not to knock your drinks over! If you go please check out reviews beforehand and try to book well in advance as you'd struggle getting a table on the night unless there is a cancellation.

Well worth a visit if you like BrewDog beer and are in the area. I quite like Elvis juice but don't take my word for it!

They even have state-of-the-art Hammer Strength squat racks which are great in assisting muscle building workouts. Also has a large swimming pool and is within walking distance of flat.
You will need photo ID and may need a padlock for locker so best to check in advance. On their website you can also apply for a free daily gym pass to give it a try,
