Neighbouring Towns & Places
Karlovy Vary is the nearest bigger city with a long history of healing procedures and hot springs. Its beautiful old buildings are set along the river and framed by hills and beautiful oak forests.
You can easily spend a day wandering through the town from one end to another. Soaking up the picturesque scenery, and tasting the famous hot mineral springs.
Places to visit along the way when your starting point would be the city centre car park:
1) You can refresh yourself in a local heated swimming pool THERMAL that is set on the hill above the historic town. The views are beautiful from up there.
2) Another lovely side tour off the main tourist strip is the LOOK OUT DIANA - you can either walk through the forest or take a light rail either way. There is an observation tower you can climb for better views and also a lovely Butterfly House - PAPPILONIUM. Kids love it!
3) Another interesting place worth a visit is MUSEUM Karlovy Vary which has been very well redesigned in recent years
4) And final destination could be a visit to IMPERIAL SPA (CÍSAŘSKÉ LÁZNĚ)

Bozi Dar is a good starting point for nice walks in the area. It's a lovely village to wander through and to fill your belly.

If you do come to see the local exposition, you might enjoy knowing that the extensive collection of minerals has been collected over five decades by my late father in the very house you are now staying. The "rocks" as I always called them were covering floors from the basement to the attic with only narrow pathways that allowed us to walk through. And the Defractometer (the X-ray machine) on display was my Dad's kitchen centrepiece. Lol . He was a special human and a very passionate man with a life long love affair with Jachymov. (You can have a sneak peek of it in the double-volume book that is laying in our living room under the TV:)

Top of the hill above our house. You can enjoy a lovely walk from the beginning of our street. Just follow the dirt track over the hills till you get to the top. We call it "The Hat". You can soak up the views and continue in whichever direction you feel drawn to. Very peaceful here on any day.
When we were kids, my Dad and one of our lovely neighbours built a ski lift for us. Two in fact. One on each hill. With all the kids from the neighbourhood, we had a blast. But had to work hard for it too... Lots of fun memories :)
