Experience nature from its core by bathing in the geothermal baths at Krauma. The hot water originates in Europe’s most powerful hot spring Deildartunguhver, at a temperature of 100°C (212°F). To achieve the perfect bathing temperature we mix the hot water with cold water from Rauðsgil, which originates in the glacier Ok, the smallest glacier in Iceland.
Krauma offers five relaxing natural geothermal baths, a cold tub to get your blood circulation going, two calming saunas and a relaxation room where you can rest by the fireplace while listening to soothing music.

Experience nature from its core by bathing in the geothermal baths at Krauma. The hot water originates in Europe’s most powerful hot spring Deildartunguhver, at a temperature of 100°C (212°F). To achieve the perfect bathing temperature we mix the hot water with cold water from Rauðsgil, which originates in the glacier Ok, the smallest glacier in Iceland.

The saga is brought to life through the work of many different artists, mainly using wood. The exhibition is atmospheric and ghostly, with dim lighting and skeletons – which is probably why kids love it. As one young visitor put it: “I was scared, but I want to go again!”

Hraunfossar waterfalls run down from the brims of the rugged Hallmundarhraun lava field and into Hvítá River in Borgarfjörður. They are often listed as one of the top most beautiful waterfalls in Iceland and deservingly so. These incredibly blue waters originate in Langjökull glacier, the 2nd largest glacier in Iceland. The waterfall is a must do when visiting Borgarfjörður and one of the important stops on the Silver Circle Tour.
