I will recommend this place, if you would like to try the Danish classic: Smørrebrød - in English, an open sandwich on rye bread. Old fashioned style.
Breakfast restaurant in a 200 years old house where time has stood still. Located at the edge of Christianshavns canal (just go left outside the entrance). You can get sandwiches, fried herring and Paris-steak with cold beers and snaps. A must if you want a taste of the old authentic Copenhagen.
Traditional Smørrebrød Restaurant - it's super lovely with a rusty Danish flair. Absolutely recommend. For weekends, make sure to have a reservation it may get crowded.
Old school Danish food in a traditional setting. Try classic smørrebrød, a beer and a snaps.
A Classic Danish restaurant specialising in the open faced sandwiches (Smørrebrød). Nothing has changed in the past 50 years. This Places lies off the beaten path and most visitors are regulars that - such as I - have a yearly tradition of visiting with good friends.

“Traditional Danish. Try a few different kinds of smørrebrød for lunch. For dinner they serve traditional dishes with snaps. It doesn´t become more Danish than this.”

“Expensive but good. The first of many stores, that now is all over Denmark. Try one of the many traditionel “Danish wiernerbrød” or a Christianshavnertærte! The chokorug is also my favorite.”

“Eiffel Bar is a classic Danish pub with everything it entails of cheap beers, thick tobaccosmoke in the air and local regulars. Since 1737, the Eiffel Bar has supplyed beers to the many thirsty sailors who traveled at Christianshavn. Only recently young students and businessmen have mixed with the traditional guests. Truly old Danish, no tourists comes here.”
