Austin Zoo is a rescue zoo with around 300 animals representing over 100 different species. Set in the Texas Hill Country just outside Austin, learn about animals, enjoy the Rawhide Rocket train ride, buy a bag of animal food to feed the goats, sheep, deer, llamas and alpacas and shop for a souvenir in the Gift Shop.

This is a small, quaint, and RESCUE zoo. I love this place and have been going here for over 20-25 years.

So kid friendly, train ride, feeding animals, and it's a Sanctuary Zoo! Good variety, lovely. Support our wonderful animal rescue and rehab efforts!

Privately owned and SO much better than a city-owned zoo. Over 300 animals housed in native Texas Hill Country enclosures. Also a sanctuary for animals in need through rescue and rehabilitation.
