A sweet little rooftop behind William Street. You can flop down in a sunny spot after a bit of art gallery or museum time and have a great beer. You can order burgers from Flipside at the bar and they will deliver them to you on the roof.

As the original public libraries, they provided an alternative “third place” to gambling halls and pubs. In this spirit Mechanics’ Institute Bar in Northbridge was established in August 2012. Nestled amongst the heritage rooftops of Northbridge in Perth, Western Australia, we offer an escape from the everyday below.
