Emmarentia Dam and the surrounding botanical gardens provide a beautiful green space and recreational area for Joburgers and visitors alike. A popular weekend picnicking site, the park is also one of the best places to visit in Johannesburg to walk your dog, jog or ride a bike.

Lovely place to have a picnic or to go fishing. The Botanical gardens and coffee shop are there too. It is very scenic and beautiful. Johannesburg Botanical has a beautiful rose garden with a fountain.

The stunning botanical garden adjacent to Emmarentia Dam is a wonderful spot for a picnic and a stroll through the rose gardens and more. Take some bread to feed the ducks!

The park is large, and includes a lake with canoes, ducks and other birdlife, dog walk areas, a herb garden, a rose garden and lots of open space to relax.
