Our guesthouse was built by my parents, with the idea that it would be similar to the viking houses in the old days : a big open space, divided in three parts. It's nothing too fancy, but all basic necessities are here ! You also have access to two extra bathrooms and showers, and a sauna. The farm has horses, sheep, chicken and dogs roaming around ! The accommodation is strategically located, about one hour from Reykjavik, from the black sand beaches of Vik, and from the Golden circle.

The house has a quiet and cozy feel about it and is the perfect location to relax and recharge. At the same time it is close to some major attractions in south of Iceland. From Melur you have a unique mountain view with volcanoes Hekla in the north and Eyjafjallajökull in the east - and in the south you can see the Westman Islands rising from the sea.
