Enjoy the sounds and sights of nature when you stay in this unique place. Our small house is our place of respite as we develop our farm. It is full of many luxuries and a well appointed kitchen to allow for a very comfortable stay. There are views of our farm and the surrounding area from every window and the window above the bed is perfect for stargazing at night from the comfort of your bed. We have many animals on including water buffalo, goats, pigs, and chickens so always something to see.

We are next to a >1400 acre nature preserve with 5 miles of trails. Appalachian Trail (McAfee Knob), Blue Ridge Highway, Smith Mountain Lake, James River, wineries, breweries, shopping are close by. 18 min to Roanoke College and 40 minutes to Virginia Tech. Windsong, nestled in the tree tops in the Blue Ridge Mountains, more of a treehouse than yurt! This yurt has internet, an upper deck w/ a hot tub and a lower deck with a gas firepit. There is an outside firepit with fire wood, and the yurt is comfortable year round with a minisplit, propane fireplace and a generator. Enjoy the soaking tub in the bathroom and the walk in tiled shower. A hammock hangs beneath the yurt, and there are two other yurts at different elevations for privacy.

This recently renovated barn loft is located a 0.3 mile walk from the AT and just off the Transamerica Trail (cycling). This secluded retreat is located within 20 miles of Blacksburg, Fincastle, Daleville, Salem, and Roanoke. The host is an experienced AT hiker and offers shuttle service to local trailheads, grocery stores, laundromats, etc. The first 20 miles are complimentary, with a $0.70 fee per additional mile.
