Spectacular Mountain Retreat

Cottage is the guest house of our country home. Situated on a mountain with spectacular views of the Blue Ridge and access to many hiking trails; biking; fishing and swimming in private pond only steps from the door. Cottage is located within easy driving distance of multiple wineries, Sky Line Drive and Shenandoah National Park; Montpelier; and restaurants and shops. We can accommodate no more than one dog, with prior permission. In April 2023, we again upgraded our internet (see below).

The Studio at Dark Run Retreat

Quiet studio on a secluded 5 acres only 3 miles from town. Kick back and relax by the pool in the warmer months, or in the hot tub in the cooler months. Small trails lead to the creek running along the property, maybe you'll even catch a glimpse of the deer or turkey that wander thru...we've even seen a lil bear once! There is an apartment above the studio, so we ask that you be mindful of those guests if occupied. *The studio got a make-over! As of 10/6/20, we will no longer be hosting pets*

Log Cabin at Ragged Rock Ridge

Mountaintop log cabin nestled in a mature, tranquil forest with spectacular views, ideally located near adventures like hiking in Shenandoah National Park (including Old Rag & White Oak Canyon), many local wineries/breweries/distilleries and quaint towns of Sperryville & Madison, VA. The authentic log cabin includes a cozy stone fireplace, porch, and patio with Old Rag views. Ponds, wildlife and hiking also available on the sprawling 300-acre property. Stargazer is the perfect place to get away from it all! The stillness and serenity of being nestled in a bird and wildlife sanctuary is so good for your soul. Watch the sunrise from a hanging basket chair at 2700 feet of elevation, or wait for moonrise and toast spectacular star views! Relax in the sauna after a day filled with hiking and an al fresco meal on the deck. Roast s’mores at the deck fire table or over the side yard fire pit. There's magic in the air at this mountaintop retreat!
