On the ground floor you'll find a cosy living room with a wood burner & a spacious well-equipped kitchen/diner. Upstairs to two characterful bedrooms, a large, bright king-size (with Emma mattress) a charming twin, along with the family shower room. Outside there is a seating area with BBQ and a shed for bikes.

Ireby 2 miles away has a dining pub ,Caldbeck has good shops, pub and cafes ,a brewery and Distillery close by too.

The nearest Wainwright (Binsey) is walkable from the front door. The house is 4/5 bedrooms, has a large family dining table, 3 lounges, each with stoves (one convertible to a bedroom).

The hut has no electricity but has solar lights, and a separate composting toilet, all bed linen is provide along with wood for the stove. A breakfast hamper will be delivered to your door in the morning

Welcome to Highside a delightful cottage set in a secluded location overlooking the tranquil village of Lorton. Dating back to 1695 (as engraved on the fireplace in the kitchen), the cottage retains many original features but has been sympathetically modernised. The cottage resides within our farm, Terrace Farm with open countryside and panoramic views of the Lakeland Fells and numerous Wainwrights including Melbreak, Whiteside, Low Fell, Hopegillhead to name but a few.
