Wirksworth is a small market town on the edge of The Derbyshire Peak District, an ideal location for walking, cycling and other outdoor pursuits. The cottage, originally a quarryman's dwelling, has been fully refurbished and is maintained to a high standard. The accommodation: double and single bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen, shower room and TV lounge. Outside is a decked sitting area. Guests also have use of a croquet lawn, boules court and parking in the garden of Babington House next door.
Our house is situated on the edge of Wirksworth in Millers Green, its 15 – 20 minute stroll into the centre of town either over the fields along a well-defined footpath or along the road and walking distance to Haarlem Mill. It is in a private cul-de- sac of just four houses so does not suffer from any traffic noise.
"The Angel Forge" is at the very heart of vibrant Wirksworth. In the shadow of the magnificent St Mary's Church offering cosy accommodation for up to 4 people and convenient for the hugely popular, dog friendly, "Feather Star" micro-pub which is just across the private yard. Wirksworth’s restaurants, marvellous 52 seat cinema, heritage railway, pubs and other amenities are just a stroll across the churchyard.
