You are living in it! The newest and most artist friendly art district. First Fridays are a great experience! Head down to Pirate Contemporary Art Studio the first Friday of every month. Then stop by Creature Arcade and Art@6. There will be a festival of people exploring the galleries and spilling out into the street. Music, food, and merriment!
