The memorial was built to convey gratitude and appreciation of the men and women who served during the Vietnam War with 251 names of Idaho fatalities listed including 14 prisoners of war or missing in action. Designed by local Vietnam veteran, Tom Chriswell, the memorial stands 24ft tall and is made of polished stainless steel in an inverted “V” on a black granite base. The images represent 45,000 Idahoans who served.
