Beautiful mansion house on the outskirts of Edinburgh with an amazing outdoor playground for children. There are some beautiful walks through the woods and grounds and a lovely cafe to rest in after.

Newhailes is the estate of a stately home (which you can still see round at times) and is lovely to walk round. There's a little gift shop and cafe from May to October too.

Newhailes Estate is a stunning 17th-century National Heritage villa set in a fascinating landscape with woodland walks, open parkland, remains of water-gardens and built features including a shell grotto and classical summerhouse. A coffee house and shop are located in the visitor centre.
