Popular spot for viewing the harbor and beach. Coast Guard station is there. "The former keeper's house is an active U.S. Coast Guard station, and on-duty personnel living quarters. Search and Rescue, maritime law enforcement, and Homeland Security missions are carried out here. Flotilla 11-01 of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary operates from this station.

A working lighthouse, some days they give tours and you can climb the stairs to the top. Currently on display is a famous rescue boat featured in the movie "The Finest Hours". The rescue happened off the coast of Chatham in the 1950's.
