One of our favourite neighbourhoods of Antwerp. Thanks to the old buildings (go to Cogels-Osylei), good pubs (at Dageraadplaats) and nice atmosphere. Feels like a small village in a city.

Zurenborg is overflowing with belle époque grandeur: art nouveau-façades, elegant streets and atmospheric squares. Its highlight is the 19th century Cogels-Osylei: sublime architecture from around the turn of the before last century.

Right across the street...first stop is bar Walvis before you go to Dageraadplaats...I like the daily soup and the ginger beer.

The best-known street in the Zurenborg district is the Cogels-Osylei, in the Berchem area, which is well known for its art-nouveau architecture. The most important square in the centre of the district is the Dageraadplaats, almost completely surrounded by cafés and restaurants and on sunny days forms one big terrace!
