At its new building designed by Grimshaw Architects, Arter continues expanding the range of its activities beyond exhibitions to performances and events across many disciplines. Arter’s building has 18,000 square metres of indoor area and features exhibition galleries, performance halls, learning areas, a library, an arts bookstore, and a bistro.

It is 'the' contemporary art museum of Istanbul. The permant collection and the temporary exhibitions should be seen. If you may manage your time, do book a guided tour and learn the works of art in depth. After the tour do not forget to drop by the bookshop of Arter and go crazy! Also, buy a exhibition poster as a souvenir. You may grab a coffee at the tiny backyard of Arter. Also while you're in the area, if you'll be staying in Istanbul for a longer period of time; do stop by at Kozmaoglu -the one and only pork manufacturer family of Turkey, and shop for good charcuterie.
