55 minute drive, 40 mile distance. Beamish is a world famous open air museum which brings the history of North East England to life at its 1820s Pockerley, 1900s Town, 1900s Pit Village, 1940s Farm, 1950s Town and 1950s Spain’s Field Farm exhibit areas.

This very popular attraction is about 9 miles away. it's a great day out for all the family. Lifestyles of yesteryear are created by staff in authentic costumes and historic buildings which have been brought from around the region and rebuilt at Beamish. A fascinating glimpse into the past!
