I live in San Diego, and have worked near the Hawthorne Historic Inn for over 20 years. I know the area quite well and have many ideas about activities for you. I enjoy Balboa Park, special locales like the Spruce Street pedestrian bridge. The hotel has been a lot more work than expected but quite a lot of fun too.

This was a great location to stay at for a weekend getaway. It was exactly as described. Earplugs are provided since this is located on the airway. We didn’t need them since the noise didn’t bother us while we slept but it was loud when walking outside and trying to speak to one another. The hosts were very accommodating and responsive. I would absolutely stay again. The location was great and just a short 10 min walk from Little Italy. There was so much to do and see. The view in the balcony was beautiful. I thought it was a private balcony but it’s a shared space. Still peaceful and nice to sit and have a drink.
