Free drive up to the rest. Trinidad sign and grave of George Simpson, former county clerk & recorder. His wish was to be buried on top. Earlier he had diverted a band of Indians wanting to wreak havoc on the town and he had them chasing him in and out of caves, etc. until they gave up and moved on from atop Simpson's Rest. Great aerial view of Trinidad. Gates close at dusk so go early.

North to the End of Nevada Ave turn left and go through gate to drive to top, or walk up. Nice view of area. Free. Be careful no railings.
